
Early Career and Doctoral Workshop on Socioeconomic Mobility and Public Policies
Join us at the first Early Career and Doctoral Workshop on Socioeconomic Mobility and Public Policies. This workshop is organized by Doctoral Researchers from the Department of Economics at the University of Alcalá and aims to be an opportunity for young scholars in Social Sciences (Economics, Sociology, Political Science, etc.) to connect and share their insights into their research in an interdisciplinary way.
The Workshop is an in-person two-day event at the University of Alcalá (Madrid) with a keynote speaker andthree sessions where PhD students and Early Career researchers will present their work and will receive comments from invited senior discussants, promotingalso collective discussions.
The Workshop is open to both quantitative and qualitative research approaches from a variety of theoretical perspectives and empirical approaches. We welcome submissions across a wide range of topics related to social and economic mobility, inequality, poverty, and public policies (labour market, education, housing, income maintenance, health, migration, andfamily, among others).
Extended abstracts (max. 800 words) are accepted assubmissions by the 11th of March, and we encourage applications of students just starting their PhD. Selected participants are required to submit a draft paper by the16th of May and prepare a 20-min presentation. Traveland accommodation expenses are not covered, but coffeeand lunch will be provided.
